Introducing Anderida's Children's Home Assessment Tools

We at Anderida are continually looking at ways with which to better our practice. Right the way through the organisation we keep a close eye on the way that we do things and how we can make that better and it is through putting our heads together that we have been able to create a whole system in order to take stock and look introspectively at our own work and the work of those around us. The Children's Home Assessment Tools enable Managers to evidence good practice with their teams as well as areas that could be improved based entirely on the Every Child Matters headings and our personalised take on it. During supervision, youth workers are encouraged to discuss how their practice has been in line with the guidelines and opens a forum to discuss what has been done and what may need to be done in the future whilst receiving a score considering every heading. This system has, however, been utilised right across the board and the staff also score their manager's practice, the young people score the company and the key workers score the young people as part of their monthly summaries. If you would like to use this system for your own organisation click here.

Fun on the Farm

Through steely competitiveness and apparently absolutely no cheating whatsoever, Anderida won their fun day when they went up against Angel Care and Springfield Children’s Home in a kind of It’s a Knockout! meets school sports day – specically the part of sports day where the parents get a go and embarrass their children by careering off the track whilst trying to balance the egg on the spoon and running backwards… We had the camera out to try and capture the general silliness laced with the usual undertones of competitiveness that should really be kept exclusively for the likes of Mike Tyson in the boxing ring and while no ear lobes were gnawed off, it was a cracking day all in all and even if 50 or so individuals couldn’t tell the quiz master that Bucharest is the capital of Romania, everyone went home happy!
